Locked at 60hz?

I just downloaded the app on my A52 5g and Pixel 6, and the apps animations are clearly only 60hz. Is this normal? As I can't seem to find anything on it. Will smoother animations be added later down the line? I'm using the F-Droid version which is still V1.3.
