(Usability) when editing, move 'View' button

When editing notes, if one types a large amount of text, eventually the buffer fills to the point where the cursor is in the bottom right-hand corner of the edit pane. The floating 'eye' icon to switch back to view mode floats above the view pane and occludes this area, meaning I cannot see what I'm typing. The only solution is to break from typing and manually slide the text up so that the 'eye' icon is now over the 'Created at'/'Last modified at' text is at the bottom of the edit pane. After I type another few lines, I'm back in the same boat once again.

Recommendation is to out the floating eye icon somehere else. I know it looks nice where it is now, but it really is a pain if one is taking long notes. Maybe it could go up on the top status bar? Or maybe the back-arrow could, instead of moving back to the list of notes screen, could first go back to view mode?

Thanks! for the great application.
