Ergomics: Text highlight, then cancel, moves caret. It shouldn't

If you press the highlight text shortcut, and then cancel (via Escape), the caret should be placed back at the original location, not left at the end of where the highlight would have been.

I just noticed that visual studio 2019 also does the same thing. Example: Holding shift while jumping between { & }. If you press escape, it leaves the caret in new position.

Might be an oversight on their end, or maybe there is no good solution.
