I just ran into this, just affirming that there is still interest in this.

I just to point out the connections to the functions in a struct question in https://discourse.julialang.org/t/simple-rule-engine/59125/10 and https://discourse.julialang.org/t/event-handler/59937/5, which was workable for me (I wrote about my context here https://github.com/mschauer/ZigZagBoomerang.jl/wiki/Internals)

Would this also cover say diagonal approximations to the covariance?

I am not sure. I can see that a random matrix might have random size, but I would expect that a typical situation would sample the elements of the matrix...

The vectorised version left us with https://github.com/JuliaStats/Distributions.jl/commit/d6985ad5f08990123b9ba84431626f22f1a408bd#diff-c185a88dade2ce18f68ff0130b5626734ed3cdb341bf5765dbb008fd8a6d91a0 `loglikelihood(::UnivariateDistribution, ::Real)` should have a docstring though, did it get lost there?

First of all, withholding docstrings for functions that are not part of the public API is bad policy, also non-trivial internal functions need documentation in form of docstrings. Second, `gradlogpdf`...

I have an additional example where the hatch completely gets lost or rather covered by a non-transparent layer (so possibly the same problem as here). ``` import matplotlib.pyplot as plt...

No, it does not work for me as written above (note the difference is between `savefig` (not working) and `show` (working)).

Thanks for picking that up with such a nice bug report, by the way.

@vincentmolin For you I guess.
