You're welcome, I was also wondering if I should add an automatic compilation rule to the makefile, though that would mean adding on at least a go binary requirement, or a ruby gem.. Would that be against the project goals?

I would prefer keep it as simple as possible to let the user build on it with whatever integration she sees fit. You're very welcome to do that in your own fork, I'd be happy to add a link to your system in the docs.
