Discussion: highlight colors for ores

Open EtlamGit opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

With introduction of new types of stone and now the new ores like copper, we have some combinations where the ores are not very visible anymore. In the example here I placed all ores in typical surroundings:

grafik

  • first row: stone, cobblestone, gravel
  • second row: granite, diorite, andesite
  • third row: deepslate, terracotta, netherrack

As explanation how Minutor colors for new blocks are derived as default:

  • all blocks get the average color of top surface texture
  • all ores get the average color of the final ore product to increase the highlight

Mostly copper in granite is not very visible. But ancient_debris is also very hidden. It is probably sufficient to just change the color of copper, but I would like to get some more opinions about possible colors.

Copper Ore could look more bright orange(#e4704b), like the storage block, that's what I do in my defFile Ancient Debris I darken, keeping the blue value(#271a2e) to better clash with the Netherrack It's not faithful to the block color, but it's visible Ultimately I don't think there is a magical solution, it's still a single pixel drowned in the image
