Settings path inconsistant

Could you make the Settings Path more consistent?

  1. When started via Start Menu, then Settings+History will be stored in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\clink. When started in any other way (cmd.exe+autorun or desktop Shortcurt) then Settings+History will be stored in %CLINK_DIR%\profile This way I end up with two different History Files, depending on the way clink is started. This is quite confusing.

  2. You seem to use separate Subfolders for each new clink version. So %CLINK_DIR% changes after an update. This way the clink loses the previous settings+history and starts from scratch :(

  3. Also, when %CLINK_DIR% is in a protected Folder (like "c:\Program Files (x86)") the history can only be written, when clink ist started with admin rights. This also adds to the confusion...

Maybe you should just use "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\clink" all the time.

Apart from that I'm a super happy clink 0.4.4 user :+1:

Very good point. I'll see what can be done.

Another small hint: I just realized that there is also a portable version of clink. Always using %USERPROFILE% might only be a good idea for the installer version. %CLINK_DIR% is probably the better option for the portable version (which is unlikely to be installed in a protected folder). You probably want to keep that in mind when trying to find a solution. Thanks in advance :)
