Problems reading directories on USB

Open darkdragon-001 opened this issue 8 years ago • 1 comments

While I can successfully read partitions of my internal drive, I have problems accessing my external drive (connected via USB). The format is ext4. All folders except for lost+found are displayed like files and therefore cannot be expanded. Viewing the properties lists them still as type Directory.

I haven't tried it on ext4 partitions on USB devices, but this comment under this answer here (https://superuser.com/a/141919/425838) says:

It doesn't support removable devices. Try putting a SD card with an Ext4 partition on it inside a SD card reader and try reading it with this software. It won't work. It only supports internal HDD devices. For external and removable, get Linux Reader by Diskinternals. – Samir May 24 '13 at 16:35

I just tried ext2read and it doesn't even read my internal hard drive with ext4, as I have a dual boot system.
