Help Wanted: ChildDDL as String (1.5)

Does anyone know how to make the ChildDDL feed in as the text value rather than the item ID?

I'm trying to build a form where the user selects a type of request using a ChildDDL (e.g. Hardware>Laptop>Broken Laptop) but ideally I need the DDL to give me the selected word to make the scripting easier. Worst case I can use the ID, it's just more of a pain to do it that way and makes the script less readable.
