Subtitles do not render when only cover art is shown?

Open User-3090 opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

I created an mka audio book with subtitles and cover art (png). The cover art displays fine and the subtitles track is show within the UI, however it doesn't render. Is this a bug or limitation or my failure to use mpv.net correctly?

Thanks!

I think I figured it out. Subtitles are rendered correctly when the window is constantly resized. Seems MPV doesn't redraw the screen when cover art is show. It only redraws the screen when the window is resized.

Is there are workaround / fix you could think of?

Audiobooks with sub titles seem a very good language learning tool to me.

Does it work in mpv, vlc and mpc? What happens if you rename it to .mkv?

Which language are you learning? Not long ago, I studied English vocabulary using Anki for about 6 months, but had to give up after piling up about 3000 words, it became too stressful. Now I just use the translator without bookmarking and without Anki.
