DSD output as DoP

I am not sure if I am missing something. I can play my DSD .dsf files as PCM and send it to my DAC as PCM. However, does MPV support DSD over PCM (DoP)? I can use dsd2flac from https://github.com/hank/dsf2flac and then pipe it to MPV, but wondering if there is a more elegant way? Ideally, is there a way for mpv to preprocess a file via a script before playing it? As far as I can tell, I can't see anything in the documentation that allows this.

I have actually been making some progress. I have managed to figure out with lua. Shall do a bit more testing...
