New Default Sound Effects

The default sound effects leave much to be desired. They should be much more subtle and much less loud.

I think we can address the volume issue by introducing a volume control for sound effects. The subtlety issue is something we can address with sound packs if necessary.

I've opened issue #75 based on the volume slider idea. However, I really feel strongly about changing the default sound pack. We can include this as an option, but I'd like the default to be something subtle.
