Ambilight does not change lights

Kodi 17 on NVIDIA Shield TV with PlexKodiConnect (PKC)

I did the whole setup and select my lights for the Ambilight setup. The moment I play any video file the selected lights change to a new brightness & color but then just get stuck there. There is no changes at all while the video plays. The moment I stop the video my light correctly reset to the previous state.

Any suggestions on what might be going wrong? I tired various video files with different codecs and always got the same result. Lights change only once

I have the same issue, it sets the colour once on playback then doesn't change it

It's probably because you have Kodi set up in the Player settings to use Mediacodec(Surface) to decode video.

You can either disable Surface (but then you may have stuttering video) or you can use the fix here:

im on rpi 4 with plex addon they dont seem to change either. I mean they do change but they dont match with the color on screen and only seem to change at the start for a specific color also. Im using a strip

I'm also having this issue on a RP4 Kodi 18.7 does not matter if hardware acceleration is on or off.

lights change colour once as soon as the movie starts but then no longer change.

(theatre lights work as expected)
