If monit wasn't shoved down my throat by an architect who loves it, I'd rip it out completely. Monit completely changes how systems gurus interact with the system. This matters in a large infrastructure with global support teams.

monit stop service doesn't die for some reason monit status "thing not monitoried" monit start "starting" monit status " thing running"

Meanwhile,the frakking service is in a hung state, but monit doesn't tell me that. It just tells me things are moving along swimmingly. It does nothing systemd and/or intelligent monitoring can't do, but does it worse.
