If you use a dark theme the text will remain black.

I am also experiencing this. It's also happening on Light mode too -- but if I switch to Dark mode and then back to Light mode, the issue is resolved and I can see the menu text again.

Also, I notice that in the screenshots (both my own and OP's) the text is relatively readable, but this does not reflect what I see on my screen. In person, it is impossible to see or read the text, unlike in the screenshots above where it is at least legible.

Also experiencing this problem. Sometimes makes things hard to read
