Bug: translation bugs
So, there are some bugs I found on the latest alpha build after first translation review:
- "Translated by" labels are translated on Crowdin, but the labels are still in English:
- The "Following" feed name and "Following" button you click to unfollow are the same string, but for some languages it needs to be different strings. For example, in Belarusian the correct feed name is "Падпіскі", but for the "Following" status it should be "Вы падпісаны":
- Content filters in the moderation settings aren't translated. Also, values for the filters aren't translated on the settings page, but are translated when selecting option:
-
Here is a little untranslated label "a bluesky post, via graysky.app" when sharing a post as an image.
-
When reporting account or post, there is too little width for the reason labels:
-
There is too little space for the "You have blocked this user" label:
- Also, push notifications are untranslated, but the same notifications in the app are translated:
- Also it would be great to be able to translate language names in the languages settings and post language select
This is great feedback, thank you
- Translated by Google is an image, which google forces you to use :(
- I've split out the following string to "feed", "list" and "action"
- This is going to change in the future, and in it's current state it's difficult, so leaving for now
- done
- need to think about this
- will figure that out
- thats a big job, need to think about that. not possible at the moment
- Noted
(Is it OK I'm continuing here, or it'll be better to open new issues?)
9. Content warning in posts are untranslatable:
Yep it's probably easiest to have it all in one place
- Post as a noun (in headers) and Post as a verb (on the button) are should be different labels:
Adding to this, the popup that appears when favoriting/unfavoriting a list doesn't seem to be translatable as I can't find them in Crowdin
Good catch, thanks
Here's another one. In the List tab of someone's profile, there are these labels that indicate what kind of list each list is, and I can't seem to be able to translate those.
The notification string that shows when one person follows you is the same as when multiple people follow you.
For example here "ha empezado a seguirte" (started following you) is correct for a singular person following you, but should be "han empezado a seguirte" for plural.
In Spanish this can't be reworded to use the same string as in English, so it should be split into two singular and plural strings.
