What should a software citation webapp include?

Open faokryn opened this issue 8 years ago • 1 comments

Please describe what features are important to you in a webapp designed to help you cite software. What would an ideal workflow be, for you? What features are considered critical, and which are not necessary, but nice to have? What pitfalls should be avoided to make the app easy to understand and use?

The most critical feature is the possibility to select the type of reference (not just journal citations; take the list of about 30 reference types from EndNote) and in all citation styles (take the list of citation styles from http://citationstyles.org and EndNote. Currently, most applications fail to deliver this simple feature. See details here: https://www.authorea.com/users/113502/articles/157923-a-student-guide-to-citations
