@stephwright I noticed some of the issues you're starting. I'm hoping to build some online data management workshops for the fall (finding space can be exhausting) and I'm curious about where you're going with these modules. I had been thinking about doing some simple stuff like elements of a data management, getting DOIs, and using data repositories. Some will probably be localized (like data storage) but maybe there is some overlap.

@tomhohenstein Tom, yay!!! Great to see you commenting on this issue. I'm sure @stephwright will respond here as well, but I would LOVE to work with you on some of these materials, so they can be as useful as possible for you and your communities. I do think there's a lot of overlap here, and we should find time to talk more (I'll be in Boston the week of the 25th, if you're around!).

How we're working now: Steph and I created an outline of what we think we'll cover in the full series, and we're starting by creating "primers" which is the core content each module will deal with. These are like white papers, meant for reading online but we've tried to make them fun. We'll use these as the basis for exercises and activities that would be delivered in an in-person training.

Here's the first Primer, aimed at winning over open data newbies-- let us know what you think!

I apologize if you've been getting a lot of notifications. I'm organizing things based on what we decided in the Work Week last week and keep changing my mind how I want to break them down. If you guys meet up in Boston, perhaps I can Skype in?
