Add Support for Android
It would be nice, if the Android Version of Firefox could be supported.
This might work best if it was treated like private mode, so new tabs can be created without having to long-press (related to #1000).
It seems that there will be no Android support anytime soon according to this bug. The API docs for browser.tabs.create also list cookieStoreId as not supported parameter on Android.
The UI would have to be revamped to work on a mobile device.
This also requires a huge amount of platform-level work. The GeckoView project aims to embed Firefox platform for Android. Please follow bugs here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=geckoview
So, basically it's not happening anytime soon :(
Thanks for the link, though I'm not 100% clear on how that's relevant, probably because I'm not too hip on how this extension interacts with Firefox core.
https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/contextualIdentities:
Note that although contextual identities are available in Firefox for Android, there's no UI to work with them in this version of the browser.
Does it still
requires a huge amount of platform-level work
?
With GeckoView starting to get extension support, perhaps it's time to raise this issue again?
Any updates?
