Tabs reopen to the wrong window, if the wrong window is the last window active.

Open jtagcat opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

  • Multi-Account Containers Version: 7.3.0
  • Firefox Version: 88.0b3

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open 20 (1 works as well, if the system is stressed) tabs in window A. The tabs should be configured to reopen in their specified container.
  2. Activate window B.

Actual behavior

  1. As long as window B was the window last focused, the tabs will close in window A and open with the right container in window B.

Expected behavior

  1. Tabs reopen in window A.

How do you close each windows and Firefox? Asking because I remember that Firefox has a slightly different behavior depending on how you close them when restore session is enabled.

Always with Ctrl-w.

I'm not able to reproduce this on my side. I might need more details for the step to reproduce. Currently, what I tried is:

  1. Open Firefox (Window A)
  2. Open a few tabs assigned to Container A
  3. Open a new window (Window B)
  4. Close Window A
  5. Close Window B
  6. Re-open Firefox and restore the session.

Does that sound right to you?

I have a similar issue that could have the same cause, for me the steps are.

  1. Have multiple pages as a start page one of which is set to always open in container A.
  2. When starting Firefox before any tabs have loaded (multi container has not assigned a color) open 1-2 bookmarks that are also set to open in container A in a new window.
  3. Wait for everything to load (for me this is during startup of the computer so it's a bit slow since a lot of things are loading at the same time)
  4. Tabs are moved back to the original window, this might be because I was focusing it because the opposite has also happened where the page in the first window is moved to the new window.
