Doesn't work in the extended toolbar

ACR doesn't work in the extended toolbar of Fx56. Must be in the normal toolbar.

Thank you for the report.

This looks like an upstream bug since the Library button suffers from the same issue. I reached out to Firefox developers.

Ugh, I just saw that the bug only addresses the Library button. I filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1380274 specifically for this issue. Sorry for all the back and forth.

So this won't be fixed upstream, but one of the awesome Firefox developers was able to figure out a workaround. I'll submit a patch shortly.
