Manual sync required to sync sent tabs

For the last few month now I need to set off a manual sync again to get sent tabs to appear from desktop to android and vice versa. That issue was there for a long time, but got fixed a year or two ago. Please let me know if I am posting against the wrong repo; will also add steps if required.
