Design a way to get more information about operating hours
One idea I thought of was to add a small ‘down’ chevron besides the opening time field.
When tapped, the field expands downward to reveal a full list of operating hours. Current day is highlighted.
Alternatively, we can also put operating hours under a 3D touch peek/pop action – or tap and hold action for non 3D touch phones. We simply blur the background and reveal a mini card.
Alternate design:
Some more ideas:
- Show relative time under current day, but only if opening and closing time is close by
- “Closes in 35 minutes”
- “Opens in 19 minutes”
- Show happy hour time (although I’m not sure where to get this data from)
- “Happy Hour: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM • Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu”
I like the "mini card" UI that you have there for 3D touch! I wonder if we can add a 3D touch interaction for the map directions as well.
What do you think about using that same UX for the regular interaction here? That is, instead of "expanding" the area, we open the a mini card on press. We might need an affordance to close the mini card but I feel like it'd could be more consistent with the experience for opening images (issue #162).
I know we currently do the expanding and collapsing thing with Yelp, TA, and Wiki info at the bottom but I'm not sure that's a direction we want to continue in for the next iteration.
@brampitoyo can you spec that out further?
instead of Opening Hours can we just call these Hours
