Dan Brown do we have a target date for this work?

Dan Brown Just checking as I’m new to this workstream - do you have everything you need from us on your end, or do we owe you some deliverable / definition prior?

Questions from my team cc Betty Fleming

  • Where will this be available? Same geo restrictions as VPN?
  • What currencies will this be available in?
  • confirming that all CTAs are the same link, and lead to a page that is product owned, correct.
  • what languages are required at launch?
  • What is this called? Is there a name for this? I’ve heard “Mozilla privacy bundle”. Is this confirmed with alignment?

Callouts:

  • Current designs have a lot of text in images which could be an issue if we are supporting multiple languages. If we need to support multiple languages, we should revisit images and design to have no on-image text.

Questions on additional needs:

  • is a privacy policy page needed?

  • is a ToS page needed?

  • Are release notes pages needed?

  • is a post-download page needed?

  • Are there any other page expectations other than the landing page

US only{quote}

If someone is not physically located in the US, what should the page show instead?

I’m preserving comment from Tony Cinotto here that got wiped out, because he accidentally edited the “latest comment” (instead of writing a new one):

Where will this be available? Same geo restrictions as VPN?

US only

What currencies will this be available in?

US Dollar

confirming that all CTAs are the same link, and lead to a page that is product owned, correct.

Correct: CTAs will take a user to sub plat

what languages are required at launch?

English-US

What is this called? Is there a name for this? I’ve heard “Mozilla privacy bundle”. Is this confirmed with alignment?

Tyler Curry can you confirm: Mozilla Privacy Bundle

Alex Gibson I’m not sure who to tag for this for designs, but we would also need to highlight the 30-day money back guarantee like we do for VPN. (cc: Jessica Valentine )

Alex Gibson cc Dan Brown I was looking to put some time on friday 9/9 to review the designs we have so far if that works for everyone – but it made me realize that there isn’t a clear date as to when Bedrock team needs the designs finalized/handed off – anyways we can get a date for that too? & we can also discuss Friday as well. Thanks both! Just want to make sure we are on track and aligned/meeting expected timelines etc!!

➤ Dan Brown commented:

Hello Jessica Valentine . Turnaround time is dependent on if the design is minor or major. My assumption is that this is upsell design will not be any major change to the page. I ask for at least 2 weeks for dev, QA, testing, and deployment. If designs are more complex, or involve new functionality, animations, etc the timeline is longer. If Sept 20 is the go-live date, then that would mean we need designs asap. Although I’m not certain if the upsel is critical to have on day one of the bundle launch?

I see the invite for 9/9, however I am already booked for that timeslot. Is there another available?

Dan Brown Alex Gibson Yes absolutely understand what you are saying/makes sense. Here are the designs for review async and we will review 9/12 as well https://www.figma.com/file/vje77igIFc5wnW4lkP5thl/VPN-Bundle-Touchpoints?node-id=354%3A4679 ( https://www.figma.com/file/vje77igIFc5wnW4lkP5thl/VPN-Bundle-Touchpoints?node-id=354%3A4679|smart-link ) Updated the design ticket above also linked.

Go live date for bundle/upgrades is not until Oct – Betty Fleming can confirm. Santiago Andrigo can confirm this as well – but the upsell/change in UI to the VPN landing is a critical entry point for the bundle’s functionality on launch now that there won’t be the additional landing page for the bundle as initially planned.

Thanks all! See you Monday for review!

+1 to the criticality of this. The VPN website is likely the single largest entry point for people to get or upgrade to the Bundle.

The bundle is scheduled to launch October 11

Betty Fleming the date QA have requested is Oct 6th

Jessica Valentine hi! A couple of smaller questions as I work through implementing the design here:

  1. I notice in the Figma mockup the layout order of the modules on the page have all changed, compared to what’s in production. Most notably, the pricing section is now very last on the page above the FAQ (vs in the middle where it is currently). Is this change intentional? I seem to remember that marketing did quite a bit of testing here to find the right place in the page to show the pricing offer.
  2. The mockup contains placeholder copy “Save XX%” and “US$XX.XX total” for the bundle price. Do we have the final numbers available yet?
  3. Right at the top of the mockup there’s a new link in the sub navigation component labelled “Why bundle?”. Where is this supposed to go to?

That’s all for now, will sync up with you to run through the UI changes when you’re back from PTO.

➤ Santiago Andrigo commented:

Thanks Alex! I can jump in to add some color, though Jess may add more.

  1. Yes, this is intentional. One of the reasons to default to pricing at the bottom is that the pricing widget mentions the bundle, and this necessitates that we explain what the bundle is - before then. If we keep the pricing widget in the middle and inject a bundle explanation right before it, the narrative, that should center on VPN first and foremost, becomes extremely interrupted. This was not the case (as much) when the pricing widget only spoke about VPN. We’d like to do some proper A/B testing once Mktg support is back, but for now we went for what we believe optimizes the narrative flow.
  2. We haven’t finished pricing but we are leaning towards: $6.99 p/month (as described in the mocks). The total price is $83.88, which is a 50% discount on a yearly Premium Relay Subscription. (btw, we just added ‘on Relay Premium yearly plan’ in that widget, in the Figma file, to make sure it’s clear what the 50% should be referring to).
  3. This link should take you to the “Increase your privacy with VPN + Relay” widget. Also: ‘Learn more’ should go the Relay Premium landing page, and ‘Get VPN + Relay’ should take users to the SubPlat page to sign up.

Here’s the new design pushed up onto a demo server for review (some things are still being tweaked):

https://www-demo5.allizom.org/en-US/products/vpn/?geo=us ( https://www-demo5.allizom.org/en-US/products/vpn/?geo=us|smart-link ) (VPN + Relay bundle available)

https://www-demo5.allizom.org/en-US/products/vpn/?geo=gb ( https://www-demo5.allizom.org/en-US/products/vpn/?geo=gb|smart-link ) (bundle not available)

Please let me know if you have any feedback / questions / suggestions 🙂

Note: the links above are only for design review. These links should not be passed to QA and will only cause confusion if they try testing the subscription flow (QA will begin on Oct 6th on the regular server they are used to testing with).

Alex Gibson This LGTM!

Also, I know this is cheating in scope, but would you mind updating the text that mentions 400+ servers in over 30 countries (it’s said twice), to say 500+ and 36 since you are at it? 🙏

Thankfully this is an easy task and doesn’t require any new strings (we just pass through some variables), so can do.
