Telemetry are off but Focus still try to connect to incoming.telemetry.mozilla.org

Steps to reproduce

Disable usage stats and studies in Focus.

Expected behavior

No network connection or DNS resolving to incoming.telemetry.mozilla.org

Actual behavior

My home DNS server logged DNS request for incoming.telemetry.mozilla.org. Every ~30 minutes. Firefox Focus is my 5th most blocked domain on my network.

  • Device: iPhone 12 Mini iOS 15.2
  • Build version: 40.0 (9637)

@travis79 is it possible that Glean keeps trying while something is still in the outgoing queue? Even if Telemetry is disabled?

If telemetry is disabled, it may be trying to send the "deletion-request" ping, which tells the server to delete data associated with that client id
