IMO this is intended behavior and it is a privacy feature.

@brampitoyo any input here about what the behavior should be?

@mcarare Actually, this might be a bug that’s specific to our New Tab Page.

  • When you repeat the same action in Focus while the middle of browsing, the current states of the URL bar and keyboard are preserved
  • When you repeat the same action in Firefox Private Browsing Mode (and PBM of other browsers), the URL bar and keyboard are also preserved

I reckon we should fix it.

OK. I just thought this would be a privacy feature, so after leaving the browser for some reason, no one else would be able to see your typed search.

I'll re-open this ticket, since I was able to reproduce it on the latest Focus Nightly build 101.0a1 from 4/28 with Oppo Reno 6 (Android 12).

This issue still reproduces on the Focus Nightly 104.0a1 from 7/13 with Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Android 9), and Oppo Reno 6 (Android 12).
