[iPad][iOS 26] [Intermittent] Crash when opening CNN article link in a new tab

Steps to reproduce

1. install FF and skip onboarding.
2. From the homepage tap on the search bar and search for wikipedia
3. Open the wiki homepage and through long tap open one after another, 3 links as new tabs.
4. Tap in the toolbar new tab and search for CNN and open the homepage.
5. Tap on the CNN link and open the homepage.
6. In the CNN homepage tap on an article link and try to open it in a New tab.

Expected behavior

Article is opened in a new tab.

Actual behavior

FF crashes.

Device & build information

• Device: iPad Mini A17 (iOS 26)
• Build version: v146.1 (65627) and FF 146.0 (65544)
• First seen version: 145.3 (65247)

NOTES: This is an older issue, as seen in the build versions above.

Note: Repro with opening wiki, then CNN is 7/9 tries. Repro with opening CNN directly is 3/6.

Did some investigations: This crash can be reproduced with less steps and a bit easier.

1. Load CNN website
2. Clear cookies and site data, from Tracking Protection
3. After “Accept All“ cookies, immediately long tap on a link to open context menu (but if you wait 1-2 seconds, after “Accept All”, is working as expected)
4. FF crash

I see this as well to be an issue from Webkit.
