Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox and open it in split view.
  2. Access on Windows 1 PWD section and unlock it.
  3. Add FF to the background.
  4. Resume FF > Tap on the 3 dot button > Split-View.
  5. Observe the window that was previously opened with PWD section.

The PWD section should be correctly displayed or at least the unlock method for the PWD section (biometrics).

Actual behavior

One of the windows while being in split-view is displayed as fully gray within PWD section.

Andrei Bodea Can you please double-check and/or further clarify the repro steps for this? Is it timing-related? I’ve watched the video but am having a hard time seeing exactly what is happening and I haven’t been able to replicate so far using the steps in the ticket. Thank you

Hello, @mattreaganmozilla sure It's not easy to reproduce:

  1. Launch Firefox and open it in split view.
  2. Access on Windows 1 PWD section and unlock it.
  3. Add FF to the background.
  4. Resume FF > Tap on the 3 dot button > Split-View.
  5. Close the windows 2 and then fast add Firefox to the background (the window 1 is added to the background it was opened in the PWD section)
  6. Resume Firefox and tap again on split view and select Firefox again. You will observe that one window (window 1) is grayed.

Andrei Bodea Sorry for the back-and-forth, I’m still a bit confused by the repro steps. In Step 1 it says open in Split View (so 2 windows now side-by-side). Steps 2-3 do not change the window arrangement, just open PWD and move to background and then foreground.

Then step 4 mentions tapping 3 dot > Split View, but if the app is already in Split View this will only provide an option to move to Left Split or Right Split. Is there an additional step somewhere that I’m missing?

Andrei Bodea Do you have any alternative repro steps you can provide, or possibly time to sync briefly on this? I’ve had some difficulty reproducing. Thank you

Andrei Bodea Alina Moldovan I haven’t been able to replicate this, can anyone provide more precise repro steps and/or LMK if this is still happening?

  3. On window 2 tap on the 3 dot button and close it → fast followed after closing it add FF to the background.
  4. Resume Firefox (add the password).
  5. Open Firefox again on split view. !Video (36).mov|width=39.21814172446323%,alt="Video (36).mov"!

Note: I’m still unable to replicate using these steps (tested on both sim and device, running latest main which should have the same code as the v9000 builds). It sounds like this is at least partly timing dependent? (cc Andrei Bodea)
