PDF frozen after locking screen

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to https://devstreaming-cdn.apple.com/videos/wwdc/2014/418xxtihju1a7v4/418/418_improving_your_app_with_instruments.pdf in Firefox for iOS.
  2. Lock the screen with the button on the side of the phone.
  3. Unlock the screen and go back to Firefox.
  4. Try to interact with the PDF

Expected behavior

You should be able to scroll normally, focus the URL bar normally, etc.

Actual behavior

Everything is frozen for about 15 seconds. After that, scrolling lags behind severely for a few seconds, and then the page crashes.

Device & build information

  • Device: iPhone SE 2nd Generation, iOS 16.4.1
  • Build version: 112.2 (30158)
  • First seen version: not sure

This happened to me. After that, Firefox crashes all the time with any page.

This happens to me all the time. If I leave ff (eg. lock my phone) with the current tab viewing a pdf, ff is unresponsive for a moment (10-15s?) when I come back

Hi @mstange I tried to reproduce on latest Firefox and it doesn't freeze. We changed quite recently how we handle PDFs. Can you please test on your device if you can reproduce on latest version ? thanks a lot @mstange
