Firefox throws 'Something went wrong during native playback' error on Cnn.com video and Silk does not
Steps to reproduce
- Navigate to CNN.com
- Scroll down to "Check these out" section
- Click on video shown in the section
Expected behavior
Navigates to page, loads video player, plays add, starts playing main video. Silk does this.
Actual behavior
FF navigates to page, loads video player, displays 'Something went wrong during native playback', glitchily jumps between random frames of the ad and the video before jumping to the video.
Device information
- Echo Show device 2nd gen
- Firefox version: 1.3 (latest)
TODO: see if we can reproduce on "store" version. If we can, it's possible the CNN.com page has changed and it's not something we broke. In that case, it might be difficult to fix.
@kglazko I tried this on the currently live version. The video was "Pelosi's clapback steals Trump's show." First the video came up saying "something went wrong," but eventually the loading spinner went on for a while and then it played properly. Does that match what you're seeing on the release candidate?
Did your video have an ad? When they have an ad, you can see the 'Something went wrong' then loading/forcing the app to skip through the ad erratically.
