Actually I don't think its possible if you don't preprocess the front theme.

heres the trick you need to set you theme to use one of the base theme to be base theme: elevenfeat # grap the eleven feat theme elements.

what we need here is eater a theme chooser from the admin permissions that can use the elevenfeat theme, or make different basetherems for popular distros (bootstrap, zen etc) diagram : https://github.com/thememachine/eleven/wiki
