Gameboy (DMG) Support?

Open josswright opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

I'm new to working with RGB-Pi (OS/4), and I copied a few Gameboy ROMs into the gb directory on my SD card, but scanning didn't locate anything. After poking around a bit, it looks to me like there is no GB-specific core in the included Retroarch. Dropping the ROM into thegba directory did load the ROM, but as there are hardware differences, the ROM I was interested in using (LSDJ) isn't practically usable there.

Is there any chance that a dedicated DMG emulator could be included?

Thanks for the awesome software.

All GB and GBC games must be placed in the Super Gameboy SGB folder

Ah, excellent. Thanks for that.

On loading it, though, it still seems to be running on the same emulator as when I manually put the file into the GBA directory and renamed to .gba (mgba_libretro.so). Unfortunately, the sound chip emulation is very different, which makes it unusable for LSDJ.

Is there any chance that a 'classic' DMG emulation could be included?

Thanks again.
