Missing half subtitles in SRT File

Open Pengi123 opened this issue 7 months ago • 13 comments

Describe the bug I have issue with last bazarr version that is missing half subtitles from SRT File, I need to again install manual from bazarr dashboard (embedded subtitles) to get full subtitles for every episodes, as first time it only put half subtitles? From log I see it automatically pull that embedded subtitles but I need again to install to get full subtitles from that episode?

I have this issue for every new episode that I add recently in sonarr, I think same issue with radarr

P.S. I post this issue in discord server, I dont get any answer.

Software (please complete the following information):

  • Bazarr: 1.5.2
  • Radarr version 5.21.1.9799
  • Sonarr version 4.0.14.2939
  • OS: UNRAID

Ok, I'll try to explain what I understand: when Bazarr download a subtitles file, half of the sentences in the subtitles file are stripped/removed.

Did I understand correctly?

Do you have some subzero mods enabled in Settings-->Subtitles?

Yes, if example episode is 30 min long bazarr only show first 15 min of subtitles thene I need to re-download same subtitles (embedded subtitles) to show full 30 min long substitles. I compare 2 files and I see how bazarr remove half subtitles and later when i re-downalod I see full subtitles.

Ok so it's only with embedded subtitles provider? Have you enabled automatic subtitles synchronization? Maybe disable mods and subtitles synchronization and try agin?

I dont use "subtitles synchronization" for embedded subtitles

I will try to disable mods and download some episode to see if that cause issue

Just to be sure, also try to completely disable automatic synchronization if disabling mods doesn't make it.

I tried today to replicate the issue, but for some reason, I can't. I tried for one episode, and every time, it was good witout problem. Before I download episodes like 7-10 in bulk so not sure if my CPU cause to bazarr cant process every subtitle because of importing in same time new episode in sonarr. Not sure if this caused problem.

I updated this morning to new version (not sure when came) maybe that fix... Anyway I will monitor this issue, if It happens again I will let you know, pls keep open this github issue, thanks

I'm experiencing the same issue. I've observed that Bazarr detects an episode as imported before Sonarr has completed the import process. My guess is that Bazarr registers the episode as imported while the file transfer is still in progress, resulting in extraction of embedded subtitles from an incomplete episode.

I think that cause issue, as yesteday I have again issue with one episode and I cant reproduce it, it happen one time and on random episode/movie.

@morpheus65535 Any updates on this issue? This is happening with almost every newly downloaded media on my server, so it’s a major problem for me. Is there anything I can provide to help move it forward?

@AkamQadiri we search for subtitles when Sonarr/Radarr tells us that the file has been imported properly. Running the embedded subtitles on a partially imported file would end up with a corrupted file exception and not a partial subtitles extracted.

So I have nothing new to add here since I haven't been able to reproduce and didn't see a debug log explaining how it happens.

This appears related to #2911

It clearly state that if Sonarr/Radarr send an import completed signal before it actually ended, what can we do? There's still nothing new...

I'm also having this issue with various subtitle files. Upon inspection of one of the problematic files, I noticed this:

1
00:00:40,469 --> 00:00:41,677
Wait one moment.

2
00:00:48,719 --> 00:00:52,052
She can decide whether or not

3
00:00:48,719 --> 00:00:52,009
she wants to throw these away.

Notice how 2 and 3 have the same start time and different end times. I have a feeling this has to do with the subtitle synchronisation indeed. I'm not sure if I can find the original subtitles, as this one was processed 11 months ago.
