XML Schema Selection Gone

In former times, when I had an XML document that did not reference a schema in Notepad++ and validated it via "Plugins > XML Tools > Validate now", a selection would pop up to allow me to select the schema to validate against. Now, using Notepad++ 8.1.5 32-bit and XML Tools 3.1.1.6, the function just displays an error ("Der Knoten ist weder gültig noch ungültig, weil keine DTD/Schema-Deklaration gefunden wurde.").

The error message is correct, but forces me now to manually reference a schema and remember what the syntax was etc. Having the selection popup was very convenient! Can you please make that work again.
