[Feature request]: Alternative methods for showing Virtual keyboard

Open lucasjsoliveira opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

On my lenovo legion Y700, I can't open the virtual keyboard on moonlight because the three fingers gesture is captured by the ROM, since it uses it for different interactions. I tried disabling this in the android settings but it's not possible.

Describe the solution you'd like

It would be great if there was an option with different ways to open the virtual keyboard. Maybe a different gesture like double finger swiping up or even a always on screen button.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I tried removing the three finger touch gesture from my ROM's settings to no avail, even when the gesture is not assigned to anything, it's still captured by the OS and so three finger touching on moonlight does nothing.

Hello, I did try using game mode, yes, but the three touch gesture was being used as "take screenshot" with game mode on or off. Nevertheless, I ended up switching to a custom ROM on my tablet for this and other annoyances on the default ROM, so that kinda solved the problem for me. Don't know if that warrants closing this feature request?

This would be helpful on Android TV as well. Moonlight on Android TV has no way to bring up the virtual keyboard because there's no way to input any touch gestures at all. I am using a Sony Bravia TV with Google TV.

Same problem here with my smartphone (OPPO), I'm not able to trigger the keyboard using the three fingers touch. Maybe it's a similar problem, as it's a gesture used by default to make screenshots, even if I deactivated it.
