[WFRP4e System] Range Change Interface Placement

Open jtsmirror opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. As someone who does not frequently use tactical maps, a problem for me (and my players) is remembering to change the range of ranged weapons when attacking enemies. I believe that the current location for range change is poorly and non-intuitively placed.

Describe the solution you'd like I propose moving the range change location from its current position (screenshot 1) to somewhere in this position (screenshot 2). I want it to work similarly to the difficulty selection, that is - range name (modifier). This change would simplify the process of selecting the range.

Modifier based on range is calculated automaticalyy when you attack while targetting an enemy token:

As a Player you can target enemy Token by double-right clicking it. As a Player or GM you can target enemy Token by hovering your mouse over it and pressing T.

Entire combat in WFRP4e should be done via targetting, since it automates opposed tests

I know about it, but that's not what I'm talking about. I know that you can choose the option of automatically calculating the distance based on the distance of tokens from each other. I also know how to target tokens. But that's not the only way to use this system, you can also mark the token on a gridless map and manually select the distance.

I simply want this when someone wants to calculate the range distance of enemy in diffrent way, instead of manually going into a tab and clicking on the distance, they could choose that distance on the roll card. My idea does not conflict with or significantly change the combat system and range calculation; it simply adds a second method of selecting the range.
