file:/// blacklisted on Linux

I noticed that there is a problem (or probably intentional) where typing file:/// or any file path will result in the blacklisted page. There is nothing in my blacklist config nor a way to disable the blacklist. I would like to access my files, this was possible in earlier versions. I would like to at least have a way of disabling this via the settings.
