How to give attribution?

Open Haroenv opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

The MIT License requires the text to be present on copies, as well as in derivative work. How do you prefer this attribution to be given?

Like Feather, we also don't want people to be encumbered by having to give attribution.

If people take a single icon from the set, or copy the whole set into a Figma file, or use the set directly in its code form, I don't see the need to give credit. This is annoying in a real-life design situation.

Credit is nice but optional.

One person suggested in the Feather thread that this runs counter to MIT. With an MIT license, you have to redistribute the license with it. If you use the vectors in a design, this is a difficult. But if you use this package an as npm package, it is automatic. If you make derivative code works (e.g. a Svelte or Vue specific package), the original licence should be referenced.
