Setting the compiler policy fails to yield detailed trace

I am working through the tutorial's debugging section, and am unable to see the detailed trace after setting the compiler policy. I expect that after setting the policy, compiling, and evaluating a buggy form, it'll show the detailed trace. Instead I see the same trace shown before setting the compiler policy.
