Alternative to trash can?

can I disable the trash can (I do not really want to erase in my multimedia apps)?

If you want to manage, more useful (uh, to me) would be to send to any subfolder (a to-delete folder can be one, which will allow reconsideration), or rename the file (or alter internal information such as title, genre or even chapters), mark 'archive'.

Anybody else out there want to tell what they like to do with their files?
