Pneumonia is a common acute respiratory infection that affects the alveoli and distal bronchial tree of the lungs. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41572-021-00259-0
- -- I do not think that bronchopneumia is a separate disease, it would be hard to draw the line clinically
- pneumonia of swine, mycoplasmal -- should not appear under human hierarchy
- anaerobic overlaps with gram negative, and in fact the most common anaerobes are gram negative
- bronchiolitis obliterans with obstructive pulmonary disease -- this is a bundled term, I think that the disease is bronchiolitis obliterans, see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK441865/
- eosinophilic pneumonia is not infectious.
- pleuropneumonia is aso bunded. Many cases of pneumomia have pleural involvement, I do not think this makes it a separate disease.
- recurrent pneumomia is not a well defined disease, it is a sequance of acute diseases or can be regarded as a phenotypic feature that may indicate immunodeficiency
- pneumocystosis should be a child of a new term fungal pneumonia Suggest restructruing
Pneumonia --infectious pneumonia --- bacterial --- viral ---fungal ---parasitic --non-infectious pneumonia --- eosinophilic pneumonia ---aspiration pneumonia ----Chemical pneumonia
Possibly the non-infectious branch should be placed under pneumonitis
