There's no detailed documentation on this, but if you look at the Go implementation they're not too complicated (if you know Go and gRPC well enough).

Interesting, I'd guess its likely a problem with the machine's internet connection, or your IP may be hitting the GitHub rate limits. However, this shouldn't crash just produce an error.
@cybertuxh4xor does it use the version from the Kali package manager, or the version from GitHub?

Sorry for the delay folks, in fixing this bug I found another slightly more complex issue that I'm working to fix.
@Moondog85 that likely means the daemon isn't running, but is unrelated to this issue.
