Messages written to SMS database are not shown until sync

DESCRIPTION

When another SMS sending client (MAXS in my case) writes a message to the SMS database, it's not shown in QKSMS until I manually re-sync.

I am fairly certain this used to work in a previous version.

Currently using 3.10.1 on Android 13.

STEPS

1. Make QKSMS the default SMS app
2. Send a text message with another tool, e.g. MAXS
3. Message is sent, but not shown in QKSMS

EXPECTED

Like in the native Messaging app, the screen should be updated when the SMS database changes.

I confirm troubles with SMS db sync, which involves notifications as well. Often the app fails to notify / show SMS until I manually re-sync, which seems to hint there's no hook nor polling working. Not sure it started after some specific update. Would be handy then a '(re)sync' button in the top bar or overlay like the '(+)' till the issue is fixed. I'm on low end phone/CPU stuck on Android 7.1
