App doesn't show "+" in front of international numbers, when numbers are inserted through 3rd party apps
DESCRIPTION
When a 3rd party carpoolin app (Prevozi - it's like BlaBlaCar) is used which opens the QKSMS and enters the phone number, the international version of the phone number doesn't have the + symbol in front of it, which makes the phone number unreachable of if i want to call that number, it doesn't exist because it doesn't have the + symbol in front of it.
STEPS
- Open the Prevozi carpooling app
- Select the Send SMS option
- QKsms will open, but there will not be any + in front of the phone number, but the SMS feature still works
- If a call function is operated from the QKSMS, the number will not exist, because it doesn't have the + in front of it (for example +386 31 123 123 - international prefix is there but the + is not)
EXPECTED
When a call button is pressed from a QKSMS app, it should call a person and a full number with a + in the inernational prefix should be used/displayed, so the number is rendered as existing.
Hey just a heads up, the developer doesn't maintain this, doesn't answer messages and, evidently, doesn't care. Since they haven't done anything to notify users about ceasing support, I have been trying to make sure people are aware.
Thanks! what do you recommend?
I've been using Signal. It took some fiddling to get it to work for my needs since SMS functionality is not the devs' priority but it does the job well. It is very convenient for me to handle SMS and Signal messages in one app since I am already a heavy Signal user.
Although I am satisfied with Signal for now, going forward I'd like to find a different solution. The Signal team seem to consider SMS functionality to be a low priority, so I don't see Signal as a long-term solution for SMS.
Ultimately I see the Matrix protocol with its steadily improving/expanding list of bridges to other services as the best hope for addressing my messaging needs (SMS and otherwise) in the future.
