Disable multiple notification sounds until SMS read?

I am using the newest QKSMS App on my Android 12 smartphone

I like the App except one thing:

Whenever I receive a text message and do not read it immediately I am getting frequently a notification tone very approx. 2 or 3 minutes. This stops ONLY if I read the text message.

How can I tell QKSMS to only sound only ONCE when I receive a new text message?

I miss a corresponding option in settings.

This issue exists only since I installed QKSMS. So I guess QKSMS is the culprit.

In case that this is a new "feature" in Android 12: Where can I disable it?
