Duplicate conversation for a single contact

DESCRIPTION

Conversation opened by "new conversation" button or "share" is different from the one created by received messages (for the same contact).

STEPS

  1. Create a new conversation, send a message.
  2. Wait for the answer : it appears in another conversation.
  3. When using another SMS app, only the second conversation (the one with the answers) appears to be in the system database.
  4. If I resync QKSMS with the system database, the initial send-only conversation disappears.

EXPECTED

A single conversation for a single contact.

OBSERVATIONS

Using the "share" feature (for picture or something else) opens the initial conversation (containing no received messages).

QKSMS 3.9.4 EMUI 3.1 on Huawei PE-TL10

I have this problem when the contact I've sent the message to has spaces in the number. The reply was then sent from a number without spaces and starts a separate thread. But I don't know how to merge these two threads.

this issue sounds similar to #1589 if it isn't a duplicate... what makes me uncertain is the disappearing of the "send-only conversation" after manually syncing the database.
