I tried opening it using xampp, and got this error, how could I fix it? and it seems like vendor folder is missing?

Whene i run npm install --prefix ./public , I found This Error: Can't install E:\xamp\htdocs\Simple-realtime-message-SocketIO-NodeJS-Laravel-master: Missing package name

Hello sir, I can send message now, but it's not real-time. Even when I get the log "Server listening at port 3000". (My english is not good.)
