Uploading NeoForge mod files for 1.20.5+ does not autofill metadata

Open bl4ckscor3 opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug

When uploading a new NeoForge mod file that has been made for Minecraft 1.20.5 or later to a project, Modrinth does not automatically fill the "Metadata" section containing the version number, game version, etc. It also incorrectly fills the "Loaders" field with "Data Pack".

Steps to reproduce

  1. Upload a NeoForge mod made for Minecraft 1.20.5+ to a project
  2. Observe the "Metadata" section not being filled/being filled incorrectly

Expected behavior

Modrinth would automatically fill the Metadata section according to the information found in the uploaded file and sets the "Loaders" field to "NeoForge".

Additional context

This is most likely caused by NeoForge changing the previously called mods.toml file to neoforge.mods.toml. Any NeoForge mods made on 1.20.5+ now have to swap to include the latter file in order to be loaded.
