Describe the bug

A list of bugs in the Modrinth Launcher as requested in Discord by @Prospector. Other blind or low vision users can comment with their issues on this issue to keep it in one place during this exploration period this week. Related to #2282

list:

  • As described in #2282, when putting the Modrinth Launcher in focus, the screen reader will detect 0 elements in the window until the user clicks anywhere with their mouse at least once (this happens not only on a cold start, but every time the window is navigated to with methods like alt+tab)
  • Many unlabeled buttons on the library tab and installations screen
  • Alert boxes such as the edit installation properties, update pack, etc. do not correctly take the screen reader's focus, and the buttons are added in the middle of the existing elements on the screen
  • Alert box titles are not marked as headings
  • Links that quickly navigate you to a particular installation do not show in human reaadable format, and instead use URL convention (E.G. Visually Impaired Access+Fabric appears as Visually%20Impaired%20Access{the code for a plus symbol}Fabric)
  • Errors when trying to launch an installation such as no files being found (io error) or an invalid account sign in are printed randomly in a box on the screen similar to alert or dialogue boxes and it is not easily obvious that there is anything on the screen relevant to the reason the pack will not launch

Steps to reproduce

Steps vary based on specific issue.

Expected behavior

The primarily web-based Modrinth Launcher app followed the high standards set out by such certifications as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at an AA level or higher
