Is your suggested feature related to a problem? Please describe.
Whenever a new Minecraft version is released, it can be difficult and time-consuming to check if all installed mods are compatible. Currently, users have to manually search for each mod to see if an update is available. This can be frustrating, especially for players with many mods like me.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like a feature in the Modrinth app that allows users to check if their installed mods are compatible with a newly released Minecraft version. There could be a button that, when clicked, automatically verifies which mods have been updated and which are still incompatible. This would make it much easier to update modpacks and ensure everything works smoothly.

There is already a crude workaround for this:
- Go to your instance settings page/installation
- Change the version to the latest available and click install (this only installs the latest fabric, it may be best to duplicate your instance first)
- Go back to the mod listings for the instance and hit refresh
- Any mods compatible with the new version will be marked as available for update.
I won't greenlight updating my version until all the mods in the instance have an update available.
Thanks for the reply!
I know that workaround, but the problem is that if some mods are not yet available for the new Minecraft version, they will still be installed in the old Version. When you start the instance, you’ll immediately get an error because they aren’t compatible yet.
That’s why my idea is a dedicated check button that verifies whether all installed mods support the new version before updating. This way, users don’t have to manually refresh and check each mod individually, saving a lot of time—especially for those with large modpacks.
Would this be something that could be considered for future updates?
